4-29-13 Meet @ Tri-Valley

On Monday, April 29, 2013, Heyworth participated in a 5 team unscored meet at Tri-Valley.  Two significant school records were broken that day by Erika Furbeck.  Erika first broke and 18 year old record by running a 13.11 in the 7th Grade 100m dash.  This broke the record of 13.2 which was set by Hillary Strange in 1995.  Erika also broke the 8th Grade long jump record that evening with a jump of 15' 8".  This eclipsed the mark set by Colleen Hanten in 2002 of 14' 4".  Full results can be found below.

2013 SVC Conference Meet

The Heyworth Track Team had an excellent showing at the conference meet on Friday evening with the 7th grade Boys and 8th Grade Girls finishing as conference champions, and the 7th Grade Girls and 8th Grade Boys finishing in 2nd and 3rd place respectively.  Leah Taylor broke a SVC conference meet record (and smashing the 400m dash school record in the process) in the 400m dash posting a time of 1:02.92.

Holy Trinity Invite 2013

Here are the team scores and full results for the 2013 Holy Trinity Invite ran on Saturday April 13, 2013 .  There are many mistakes in the full results (names not updated to correct runner, times given to the incorrect runner, etc.).

Girls Team Scores

6th Grade Girls - 4th Place
7th Grade Girls - 2nd Place
8th Grade Girls - 1st Place

Boys Team Scores

6th Grade Boys - 1st Place
7th Grade Boys - 1st Place
8th Grade Boys - 1st Place

Combined (Girls and Boys Totals - 5th through 8th Grade)

Heyworth - 2nd Place overall (despite not fielding a 5th Grade team)

April 3rd, 2013 Meet

Heyworth's Junior High Team hosted their first home meet of the year on April 3rd, 2013.  Visiting schools included Holy Trinity, El Paso-Gridley, Warrensburg-Latham, and St. Mary's.  Despite the cold temperatures, Heyworth had a really great showing, with the 7th Grade Girls placing 2nd overall, 8th Grade Girls placing 3rd overall, and the 7th and 8th Grade Boys placing in their respective divisions.  Great job Hornets!
